Community Parks

Over the years, KH Landscape Architects has been involved in the landscape design and supervision of implementation of numerous community parks for Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo. Recreation planning for community parks included children’s play and activity areas, informal outdoor sport areas, open lawn areas, formalised pathways and seating areas, picnic and braai facilities and the development of themes for each park.

Robust planting design allows for shade trees and ornamental planting areas.

KH Landscape Architects have completed community parks located throughout the greater Johannesburg area including Bramley, Brixton, Kaalfontein in Midrand; Mofolo and Zola in Soweto and Stretford in Orange Farm.

In Joint venture with Marian Louw Landscape Architects and Blue print Landscape Architecture, KH Landscape Architects completed master plans for two community parks in Welgedacht, Springs for the City of Ekurhuleni.

It is a privilege to be part of providing safe play and recreation areas in previously disadvantaged communities.
