Master Planning for Recreational and Conservation Facilities and Cemeteries

Over the years, KH Landscape Architects has been involved in a number of projects where the ecological and recreational components require cohesive design. Sensitive site planning based on assessments to position recreation elements is undertaken in each instance. Where required, the EIA Authorisation was also undertaken. In specific instances the scope of work also included rehabilitation plans.

KH Landscape Architects in Joint Venture with Marian Louw Landscape Architect completed a master plan for the Bredell Cemetery for Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Brief description

Master plan development for the upgrading of the Bredell Cemetery with Environmental Authorizations. The upgrading of the cemetery proposed new internal roads and pedestrian walkways, grave block demarcation, shade and seating, new ablution facilities and demolition of old structures to allow additional burial in the cemetery. Phase 1 upgrading of the cemetery was completed in August 2016.
